George L. Knaggs, 78 - Tanner

George L. Knaggs, age 78 of Tanner, West Virginia, departed this life at 11:20 p.m., Tuesday April 2, 2013 in the Louis A. Johnson VAMC, Clarksburg, West Virginia, following a brief illness.

Born August 27, 1934 in Albert, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Hugh and Anna Paugh Knaggs.

George graduated from Thomas High School, he was a United States Army Veteran, and worked for LTV Steel in Cleveland, Ohio. After his retirement, he returned home to The Mountain State in 1993. He enjoyed tinkering around his home, he was a terrific uncle, great friend to his family and had a fun sense of humor.

Surviving is 1 brother, James Knaggs and wife Rushie of Tanner; 3 nephews and 1 niece, Ronnie Hebb and wife Connie of Thomas, West Virginia, Wally Hebb and wife Donna of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Jimmy Knaggs and wife Darvina of Lyndhurst, Ohio, and Lisa Myer and husband Bob of LaRue, Ohio.

Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by 1 sister, Mary Ellen Hebb; 1 brother, Richard Knaggs; and 1 nephew, Hugh Knaggs.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 2:00 p.m., Sunday April 7, 2013. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery, Glenville, West Virginia with full military honors. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Mortuary.
