ELDERLY WIRT MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ABUSE

Wirt County authorities have arrested a 79-year-old Wirt man on sexual abuse charges. Some of the charges, according to the complaint, date back to the 1970s. Buddy Lee Winnell is in North Central Regional Jail, with bail set at $60,000. He is charged with incest, sexual assault in 2nd degree and sex abuse by a parent or guardian. according to NCRJ. A criminal complaint says the charges are based on statements by two females. The complaint said a young girl told State Police that Winnell touched her in a sexual manner in March 2009 at his trailer off W.Va. 14. Another woman alleges Winnell had sexual intercourse with her more than 50 times when she was a young girl between 1975 and 1978, according to the complaint.
