Mikes Run fire rapidly spreads into
woods, firefighters on scene three hours

A March breeze, a sunny day and lots of leaves caused a brush fire to spread Saturday up a hillside on Mikes Run, near Steer Creek and Rt. 7.

Grantsville and Gilmer Co. VFDs were on scene for about three hours bringing the fire under control.

The fire was reported at 4:15 p.m.
