I-79 WALLBACK MEMORIAL WILL HONOR DEAD TROOPERS

(03/23/2013)
The tragic deaths of two West Virginia State Police Troopers will be remembered by signage near the Wallback exit of Interstate 79, following a resolution passed by the House of Delegates Friday.

State Police Cpl. Marshall Bailey and Trooper Eric Workman were shot following a traffic stop at the location last August in Clay County.

Bailey died at the scene and Workman, an officer that had been assigned to Calhoun, died a few days later.

The families of the troopers were on the floor of the House Friday for the resolution that will rename that stretch of interstate, the bridges in the area and the state route near the park-and-ride in honor of Bailey and Workman.
