WIND DOWNS POWER LINE CAUSING LEADING CREEK FIRE

Two fire departments put out brush fire caused by downed power line Smithville firemen fill water bags to fight fire Winds gusting up to 40 mph downed a tree on a power line on Leading Creek at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, causing a brush fire. Firemen from the Grantsville and Smithville VFDs responded to the incident and brought the fire under control. A number of customers were out of power in the area. The power company was on scene working on the problem. The fire spread to a small area of a hillside above Leading Creek Road.
