H. Doyle "Buddy" Starcher, 61 - Spencer

H. Doyle "Buddy" Starcher, 61, of Spencer, West Virginia, died March 12, 2013, at home.

He was born December 11, 1951, at Spencer, a son of Edna Ruth Batten Starcher of Spencer and the late Kenneth Doyle Starcher.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Lawson Perry in 2004; and a sister, Debra Starcher.

Buddy was a retired employee of Alcan, Ravenswood. He was a member of the U.S.W.A., Local 5668, Ravenswood. He was a 1969 graduate of Spencer High School and an Army veteran. He was a good Dad and Grandpa, who enjoyed working cross word puzzles.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Carolyn J. White Starcher; daughters, Edna Renee Starcher of Spencer, Kelly Tanner Springston of Spencer, Cindy Lawson Legg of Gandeeville WV; son, Daniel V. Tanner of Spencer; four grandchildren; sisters, Faye Wagoner of Sand Ridge, Karen Yeager, Janice Miller and Joyce McCumbers all of Spencer; brothers, Keith Starcher of Ravenswood and Gregory "Doc" Starcher of Spencer.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the basement of the Roane County Library, Spencer.
