Carl Edward Fisher, 68 - Spencer

Carl Edward Fisher, 68, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer.

He was born August 2, 1944 in Roane County, a son of Mary E. Holland Fisher Harris of Spencer and the late Brice E. Fisher.

He was a pipeliner and a 798 welder, enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Spencer.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Shirley Blosser Fisher; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Glenda Fisher of Spencer; a sister-in-law, Carol Fisher of Spencer; three step-brothers, John Harris of Charleston, West Virginia, Danny Harris of Hurricane, West Virginia, and Steven Harris of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Rascal.

He was preceded in death by an infant son; and a brother, Robert N. Fisher.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Rev. Wayne McGlothlin and Bill Walton officiating. Burial will follow in the Clover Cemetery near Spencer. Visiting is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
