BOYS FIND LARGE WWII BOMB

(03/13/2013)

Three Marrieta boys, using their Christmas metal detector in the woods, discovered a World War II bomb, taller than the boys at five feet.

Eleven-year-old Nathan Ritchie said they thought it was a missile or rocket when they dug it up.

The bomb was empty.

They also found a kickstand, hatchet, bullets, and a shotgun.

Explosive technicians are making sure the missile is safe and the sheriff's office plans on giving it back to the boys in a few months.
