WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Logan Co. Stand-Off

(03/12/2013)
LOGAN STANDOFF - A Logan County standoff during an alleged home invasion ended with the arrest of Gregory Alderage.

State Police say Alderage tried to force his way into his next door neighbor's home around Monday.

The neighbor called the Logan City Police. When they responded, they say Alderage ran back to his house and barricaded himself inside, allegedly threatening to kill officers.

Logan Police called troopers for backup and went into Alderage's home, after which he tried to stab a trooper with a knife. Alderage was arrested and is charged with brandishing a deadly weapon.

Other charges for the home invasion are pending.

MEN ARRESTED IN SHOOTING/STABBING - Two Bluefield men have been arrested in connection with a robbery and shooting in Huntington.

Joseph S. Reeves, 28, and Antonio D. Ward, 29, were charged with kidnapping, robbery and two counts of wanton endangerment.

The men are accused of robbing two men on March 2 inside a home.

The suspects forced the two victims to lie down, while their hands were bound with duct tape, the complaint said.

Police said one of the victims were stabbed in the back by a box cutter.

Police said one victim tried to run out the front door and Ward fired a semi-automatic handgun at him, striking him in the shoulder.
