| Mary Jean Groves age 82 of Baltimore, Maryland, formerly of Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life at her residence, Thursday morning March 7, 2013, following an extended illness.
Born June 6, 1930 in Gilmer County, daughter of the late Carl and Genevieve Paugh Summers.
Jean was self-employed as a hair dresser at Groves Hair Stylist. Her passion in life was her work, she enjoyed Las Vegas in her younger years, and was a Baptist by faith.
On May 9, 1948 she was united in marriage to Wallace Herman Groves who preceded her in death on September 12, 2003.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Leza Kohl and husband Robert of Baltimore MD, Melissa Reece and husband Howard Hammen of Baltimore; 2 grandchildren, Stephen Moretz and William Kohl, both of Baltimore; 1 brother, Marion Summers and wife Winnie of Glenville, WV; and 1 sister, Flo Duelley of Glenville, WV.
Along with her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by 7 siblings; Lucille Pester, Sarah Collins, Blanche Piechocki, Clara Starkey, Joseph Summers, Carol Lingebach, and William Summers.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013 with Rev. Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery, Route 5 East, Glenville, WV. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Saturday at the mortuary.
