DRIVER CRASHES THROUGH GUARDRAIL AT ORMA - Vehicle Drops Straight Down To River Bank

11:30 AM TUE. - A driver lost control of his truck traveling south on State Rt. 16 near Orma, crashing through a guard rail and dropping straight down next to the West Fork River.

Calhoun Sheriff Carl Ballengee said the truck had a number of cans of gasoline in the bed, some of which ruptured and spilled on the crash site. "He was really lucky it didn't catch on fire," Ballengee said.

The driver did not appear to be seriously injured, extracting himself from the vehicle as Calhoun EMS arrived. He was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health System.

The crash happened in a sharp turn at the intersection of Rush Run Road.

The Arnoldsburg VFD also responded.
