Bessie E. Kyer, 78 - Palestine

Bessie E. Kyer, 78 of Palestine, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Camden-Clark Hospital in Parkersburg.

She was born September 24, 1934 at Nicut, Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Seldon and Lydia Rogers Parsons. Bessie attended the New Life Worship Center in Elizabeth, and loved cooking, sewing, gardening, and singing.

Survivors include her husband, Grant Kyer of Palestine; children and their spouses, Robert and Shirley Kyer of Palestine, Betty and Randy Deem of Leroy; sisters, Maysel Kyer of Leroy, and Goldie Jeffers of Canton, OH; and a brother, Vear Parsons of Canton, OH. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Deem of Ripley, Maria Richards of Leroy, Matthew Deem of Parkersburg, Angel Whited of Palestine, Jeremy Kyer of Louisville, KY, and Melissa Canterbury of Palestine. She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren, Levi McCune, Skyler, Hannah, Hallie, and Isabelle Deem.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Roger Kyer; and a brother, Denver Parsons.

Funeral service will be Saturday, March 2, at 1:00 pm at the New Life Worship Center in Elizabeth with Rev. Dean Ash officiating. Interment will follow in Good Hope Cemetery, Reedy. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Friday at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer.
