Ralph R. "Tiny" Alkire, 69 - Harrisville

Ralph R. "Tiny" Alkire, 69, of Harrisville, West Virginia, died Feb. 24, 2013 at Camden Clark Hospital, Memorial Campus, Parkersburg.

He was born Feb. 16, 1944 in Grafton, WV, the son of the late Ralph R. and Alfaretta C. Griffith Alkire. He was the owner of the former Tiny's Wrecker Service and worked as a heavy equipment operator at Consumers Gas for 23 years. He was a member of the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Dept. and if someone needed something fixed, welded, or needed to borrow something, he would take care of them with no question. He was a member of Harrison Street United Methodist Church.

Tiny is survived by five children, Patty Riddle (Curtis Grogg) of Glenville WV, Mike Alkire and Bub Alkire both of Harrisville, Donna Meadows (Mark) of Tanner WV, and Steve Alkire of Harrisville; grandchildren, Megan Meadows, Derek Ratliff, Erron Ingram, Dayton Grogg, Emilee Nichols and Kayla Taylor; great grandchildren, Wyatt and Wattson Nichols; and mother-in-law, Ruby Reaser of Harrisville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Sue Reaser Alkire; son, Ralph Stanley Alkire and brothers, Willis and Louis Alkire.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville with Rev. John Frum and Elder Patrick Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmont Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
