With hundreds of jobs leaving the region, the announcement of 130 jobs coming to Wood County is good news. Hundreds of Calhoun residents drive to Wood and Kanawha County for work, and many of those jobs are leaving.

PWP Industries said they will open a PET plastic packaging plant in a shell building at Mineral Wells.

A longtime photo processing plant in Parkersburg, York Photo, is closing their Rayon Drive facility on October 1, a loss of 200 jobs to the area. The original concern was known as Best Photo.

The company is moving their operations to Washington DC because photo processing is down, mostly because of digital photography.
