CALHOUN FEA STUDENTS EXPERIENCE CLASSROOM TEACHING

(02/23/2013)

Front (L-R) Ruby Prusack, Brooklyn Smith, Kelsey Jett: Back
(L-R) Bailie Cain, Jared Fitzwater, Shay Parrish, and Elle Webb

By Donald Poage

The Calhoun County FEA (Future Educators Association) members student taught the week of February 11. Some members were also required to teach the following week at the middle school. They developed and taught lesson plans in both local elementary schools and the middle school.

Ruby Prusack taught for Mrs. Prusack at PHE and Ms. Cook at CMS. Brooklyn Smith taught for Mrs. Stump at CMS. Kelsey Jett taught for Mrs. Summers at AES. Bailie Cain taught for Mrs. Hardway at PHE. Jared Fitzwater taught for Mrs. Haught at PHE and Mrs. Stump at CMS. Shay Parrish taught for Mr. Oharrow at CMS. Elle Webb taught for Mr. Bugby at PHE and AES as well as Ms. Marsh at CMS.

This proved to be a valuable learning experience as most of the FEA members now know that they want to pursue the education field and become a teacher. Special thanks to the cooperating teachers in the county as well as principals for allowing FEA members to teach at their schools.

For more information on becoming an FEA member, please contact Mrs. Connie Hall or Mr. Don Poage who serve as chapter advisors.
