Eugene Cole, 86 - Spencer

Eugene Cole, 86, of Spencer WV, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in the Roane General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.

He was born April 4, 1926 at Gauley Bridge, a son of the late Aaron and Mary Valentine Cole.

He was a retired employee of Colombian Vice, Bedford, OH. Eugene was an avid sportsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a proud Navy veteran, having served during World War II.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, L. Marie Cole; and his brothers, Levi, William Howard, Wilsie, Guy, Carmel, Joe, Richard, Gordon, and Robert.

He is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Dave Porter of Tuscaloosa AL, Sharon and Ralph Nussbaum of Colorado Springs CO, and Mary Jane and Mike Page of Streetsboro OH; and a sister, Lucille Schoolcraft of Medina OH. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Saturday, February, 23 at 2 pm, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Rick Perrine officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will be in Clover Cemetery, Clover. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
