SEVEN ARRESTED IN GILMER METH LAB BUST - Suspects Charged, Held In Central Regional Jail

Seven people were arrested after a meth lab bust in Gilmer County Sunday.

Authorities say while State Police were executing a search warrant at a home on Dusk Camp Road in the Sand Fork area, the homeowner, Rita Brown, 48, told officers that there was a meth lab on the back porch.

Police say they also found a bottle bubbling and expanding inside the home, a bottle found underneath a table where Donald Brown, 52, and Daniel Hedgoeth, 32, were sitting, according to a criminal complaint.

David Cottrill, 52, Shannon Salisbury, 33, and Rita Brown were all within about 10 feet of the production bottle, with police having them leave the house so it could be deactivated.

Once troopers deactivated the lab, they continued to search the home to find James Ware,29, and Joshua Casada, 28, hiding in a back bedroom with firearms in the room.

Police also found materials used to make meth as well as marijuana, scales and money.

Donald Brown is charged with two counts of conspiracy to operate a clandestine drug lab and possession of marijuana. He is being held in Central Regional Jail with bail set at $151,000. Daniel Hedgoeth is charged with two counts of conspiracy to operate a clandestine drug lab and possession of marijuana. He is being held in Central Regional Jail with bail set at $151,000.

David Cottrill is charged with two counts of conspiracy to operate a clandestine drug lab. He is being held in Central Regional Jail with bail set at $150,000.

Shannon Salisbury is charged with two counts of conspiracy to operate clandestine drug lab. She is being held in Central Regional Jail with bail set at $150,000.

Rita Brown is charged with two counts of conspiracy to operate clandestine drug lab. She is being held in Central Regional Jail with bail set at $150,000.

James Ware is charged with two counts of conspiracy to operate clandestine drug lab. He is being held in Central Regional Jail with bail set at $175,000.

Joshua Casada is charged with two counts of conspiracy to operate clandestine drug lab. He is being held in Central Regional Jail with bail set at $150,000.
