MINNIE HAMILTON CELEBRATES HEART HEALTHY AWARENESS MONTH

(02/19/2013)
The staff at Minnie Hamilton Health System took time out last week to show their love for a very special cause - heart health awareness month.

Staff members in Grantsville, Glenville and the School Based Health Centers wore red on Valentine's Day. Wearing red during the month of February is a national symbol that brings awareness to the number one killer of American men and women - heart disease.

There are several simple steps an individual can take to help fight heart disease including, regular check-ups including blood pressure checks, being physically active, eating healthy foods, quit smoking, be aware of your family health history.

Minnie Hamilton Health System would like to encourage everyone to take steps to be more heart health proactive. If you believe you or someone you know is suffering a heart attack or stroke, please see a doctor immediately as it may save your life! For more information on signs or symptoms of a heart attack or stroke or to learn more ways to prevent heart disease, visit the American Heart Association website or talk to your local provider.
