GASOLINE PRICES INCHING TO $4 A GALLON - 20 Rise During Past Week

West Virginia gasoline prices have spiked nearly 20 cents a gallon in the past week, and analysts say more increases are likely on the way.

The average WV price for regular unleaded hit $3.83 a gallon Monday, according to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge report. That's 20 cents cents higher than the $3.645 average last Monday, although the price per gallon is higher in different parts of the state.

Over the last month, the price at the pump has surged more than 41 cents, according to AAA data.

Gasoline prices, according to distillers, is based on free market demand, although demand has continued to decreased in the US.
