The Creston area received some snow and cold weather but otherwise it was sunny and hairy bittercress has been trying to bloom. Some robins are in the area and grass is growing as the deer munch on it.

Rev. Keith Belt filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church and Sunday evening there was a Lenton service at Burning Springs with a nice crowd from all over the county. Rev. Stilgenbauer, the preacher at Pisgah, brought the message.

On Saturday February 23 there will be an election to renew the Wirt County operating levy and locally the precinct and voting is at the Creston Community Building. The precinct was moved from Burning Springs. Some years back the powers that be took the Creston precinct away as "punishment" because local residents were upset that "an Educator" called "Porky" Smith had special requirements for female teachers to obtain tenure.

Gay Park had a round with ticker problems but the medical experts put her heart back in rhythm.

Bryan & Dottie dePue were consulting the medical experts in Parkersburg the other day.

Anna & Adam Yates were ice skating at the Washington Harbour Ice Skating rink.

The legislature is meeting again down at the Mouth of the Elk. Apparently they are working to implement Obamacare in West Virginia to destroy what medical facilities that are left. As noted earlier one of the hospitals in Parkersburg is closing and there now is lots of talk about medical rationing. One would have hoped that they would have worked to impede socialized medicine in the Mountain State. The IRS recently reported that under Obamacare the cheapest family health insurance policy will cost $20,000/year. One might say this is one of the ways to bring America to its knees as the radicals, George Soros, etc want.

Back when Earl Ray was campaigning he was talking about jobs, jobs & lower taxes and that the ethane cracker or crackers would be coming soon with high paying jobs. Now that he is reelected he is telling the tale of woe that the state has no funds and no mention whatsoever was made of the crackers which, apparently, are going to Texas because of a business friendly environment there. Apparently it is cheaper to pipeline the ethane to Texas gulf coast rather than do business locally.

The disciples of the Church of Anthropomorphic Global Warming held a march on the coldest day to demand action to stop the weather. Actually they want higher taxes and control over other peoples' lives. One of their infobabes asked a scholar if the asteroid that went by the earth the other day was caused by "global warming". Apparently the high priest, Al Gore, Jr. was unable to make the service. For certain the meteor that blew up over the Ural Mountains in Russia was a wake up call. In the Old Testament there are references to similar occurrences. Meanwhile Moochelle and the girls are on a ski vacation in Colorado, enjoying the cold weather while the Big Eared one went on a "golf" trip with some of his old friends in Florida including one of the "Choom Gang".

At the recent WVU Extension Committee meeting there was quite a bit of discussion over the economic & social conditions in America and that now many more folks were growing and canning food so that the crash wouldn't impact them so much. The agents seemed to be in the dark about the consequences of the big shakeup at the ag school in Morgantown.

There is talk that the wise ones down at the Mouth of the Elk plan to take over more local school systems with a bulls eye on Calhoun County. Test scores usually drop after the state takes over & it seems that the Manchin family gets involved.

There is talk down in the swamps along the lower Potomac that the fedrales are considering seizing folks 401-K retirement plans and private pension funds "for the greater good, of course".

A rock crusher has been installed at the quarry on Tucker's Creek near Elizabeth by a local businessman. Lots of rock is need to build access roads and well pads for Marcellus & Utica drilling. Also some Parkersburg investors have acquired a huge aquifer and are looking to sell fresh water for drilling and fracturing purposes.

The Veterans Administration indicated that they may terminate Charles Russell's VA "benefit" because their records showed it should have been going to Euell, who, of course is in a nursing home. Their father was in World War I which was then heralded by the progressive Woodrow Wilson as "the war to end all wars".

Charles Russell was attending to business in Spencer and was visiting with Mrs. Tanner, Ray Gumm, Parris Parsons and brother Euell.

It was reported that Randy Miller may have broken some bones in his foot.

With the monetization of debt and quantitative easing being done by the "wise ones" under instruction by the Big Eared One, actual inflation and higher prices are happening all around. In Parkersburg the price of gasoline rose to $3.89.9 for low test although the price in Spencer was 20 cents/gallon less.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude is $96.26 with drip (Appalachian light sweet) fetching $85.34, Marcellus & Utica light $90.92 and medium $97.76/bbl.
