Glenville, WV - Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. McPherson of Burnsville, West Virginia in Braxton County recently completed a five-year pledge of $250,000 for the construction of the Waco Center on the Glenville State College campus.

The Waco Center will house Land Resources Department classrooms and laboratories, a local access medical center, and a 2,500 seat arena. It is expected to be completed by late December 2013.

In recognition of the McPherson gift, the arena floor will be named 'McPherson Court.' Tom and his wife Mary Lee, who both attended Glenville State College, have been active supporters of the college for more than 40 years. Mary Lee operated the Town and Country Real Estate office for many years in Glenville before retiring last summer. Tom is a retired Vice President of United Bank having led the central West Virginia market for United through an era of dramatic expansion for the bank.

Glenville State College President Dr. Peter Barr said, "Tom and Mary Lee exemplify the strong support Glenville State enjoys from our alumni base. Their longtime contributions to Glenville State—financial, time, and effort—have earned them well-deserved gratitude from across the campus and community. I see their multi-year pledge as a model of gift-giving generosity."

Donations to the Waco Center can be directed through the Glenville State College Foundation.
