ROANE HOUSE LIKELY VICTIM OF ARSONIST

(02/12/2013)
Officials say flames that destroyed a house on Robertson Ridge in Roane County Saturday night was likely arson.

were no accident, and caused one firefighter to suffer from heat stress. The flames broke out in empty house just before 11 p.m., according to Frame Fire Chief Ron Russell.

Because of a communications problem, the Frame department was delayed in getting assistance, but the Walton and Pinch VFDs did get summoned and went to the scene.

Chief Russell says about seven fires have broken out on that particular location in the past ten years.

Officials said there was evidence that an accelerant was used in the house to make the flames spread faster. The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
