WALTON MAN CHARGED WITH WANTON ENDANGERMENT - Domestic Dispute Involves Gunfire

State Police arrested a Walton area, Roane County man Saturday following a domestic dispute that involved gunfire. The dispute happened about 3 a.m. Sgt. Michael Baylous says Roane County 911 got a call from a female resident of Payne Ridge Road saying her husband, 34-year-old Robert Sherrill, was drunk and threatening her with a gun. The victim said she ran out of the house and then heard several gun shots. When police arrived, they noted several gunshot holes on the outside of the house. State Police got a wanton endangerment warrant for Sherrill, who surrendered himself at 11 a.m. Saturday morning. He was taken to the Central Regional Jail. Troopers also discovered several gunshot holes inside the dwelling.
