AFTER NEARLY 100 YEARS IN SPENCER, CHEVY DEALER GOES DARK

Lights go off at last Chevy dealership in rural region

After nearly 100 years, the last Chevy dealership in the region has closed.

Spencer Auto Group suddenly closed their doors last week, leaving 18 employees without a job.

Car manufacturing companies have for several years favored closing dealerships in rural towns, seeking instead large regional dealerships.

Dealers have been long gone from Calhoun's county seat of Grantsville. At one time four in the town.

Spencer is now left with one dealer, Jack Garrett Ford.
