MINNIE HAMILTON HEALTH SYSTEM CHANGING FOR THE BETTER

(01/23/2013)
Minnie Hamilton Health System will be making some changes. The improvements are designed help better serve patients.

Lobby Redesign

To improve patient flow and confidentiality, the layout of the lobby and registration has been redesigned. This redesign will accommodate the patients to provide more privacy and space for registration for clinic appointments, walk-in's and outpatient.

-The waiting room is now bigger and sign-in personnel will direct you where to go.

-Registration will allow for more privacy.

Using a Communication Nurse

Minnie Hamilton's goal is to provide you with the best possible care as a team sharing responsibility with you to meet your needs and concerns as you present them to us in person or via telephone.

If you have not been seen within the last 6 months by your provider, please call and schedule an appointment as you will only be given a limited amount of medication until you get the appointment.

1. All phone calls regarding prescription refills, medical advice or concerns related to your care go to the Communication Nurse.

2. Please listen to the voicemail prompts to leave a message. Unfortunately the Communication Nurse cannot speak to each individual due to the volume of calls.

3. You will not receive a "call back" for refills (if you have left the correct information) unless you are asking a medical question or specify a return call is needed. You will need to call the pharmacy for all refill requests to check on your prescription. Most prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy by your provider. If you call the pharmacy first and tell them you need a refill, they will send the request to your provider. You will need to call the pharmacy back to see if your request was filled.

4. If your provider is not available, your refill request will go to another provider if appropriate.

5. If you have a medical question or concern that requires a "call back", you will be notified by the Communication Nurse or one of the clinic staff.

6. You will be notified by letter for "normal" lab/x-ray/test results. Please allow at least one week following your tests to receive this letter.

7. You will be notified by phone as soon as possible for "abnormal" lab/x-ray/test results or for change in medications and/or treatment.

If you feel that we have not returned a message request within 24-48 hours or the next business day, please call the Communication Nurse back and we will follow-up on your request or concerns.
