HARRISVILLE GETS $2 MIL FOR SEWAGE UPGRADES

State Director Bobby Lewis announced that USDA Rural Development has approved a Water and Waste Disposal Loan of $2,072,000 to the Town of Harrisville in Ritchie County. Rural Development funds will be used to construct upgrades, repairs, and replacements to the existing wastewater collection system of the town. The improvements are needed to reduce the amount of groundwater infiltration and inflow into the system. "This project will benefit the town's 821 existing customers and will extend service to 11 additional customers," said Lewis. This loan completes a total Rural Development funding package of $3,517,000.
