Ralph E. Miller, 88 - Spencer

Ralph E. Miller, 88, of Spencer WV, died at 9:25 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2013 in the Miletree Center, Spencer.

He was born in Charleston WV, a son of the late Henry and Ethel May Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Aulene Starcher Miller; and son Randy Miller.

Ralph was a retired police officer for the City of Spencer. After retiring from the Police Department, he worked as a dispatcher for the Roane County Sheriff's Office. He was a former employee of Monarch Rubber Company, Spencer. He was also a member of the F.O.P. and a former member of the Spencer Roane County Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Costello-Prevatt of Charlotte, NC, Christine M. Keen of Statesville, NC and Marilyn L. Burgess of Landis, NC; one son, Eddie Miller of Spencer; two sisters, Bridgette Higginbotham of Poca WV and Shirley Humphrey of Charleston; one brother, Denver Miller of St. Cloud, FL; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 18 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer with the Rev. Larry Jones and the Rev. Tom K. McCroskey officiating. Burial will be in the Gandeeville Cemetery, Gandeeville WV.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
