Life is about changes.

I would like to introduce readers to the new home of "Experiencing the Outdoors."

I appreciate the opportunity to broaden the reader base while providing coverage of a more extensive range of outdoor topics.

Spending the first twenty years of my life in Calhoun County gave me a solid foundation in the outdoors and a love for the wild.

In an attempt to quench my thirst for the outdoors, I moved to Nicholas County to pursue a side career as a whitewater and fishing guide.

Currently, my family makes home along the banks of Anglins Creek while I work as a teacher in the Fayette County school system.

Even though I no longer reside in Calhoun County, the red clay banks of the Little Kanawha still capture my heart.

In future articles, I hope to focus on all outdoor related topics of relevance to Calhoun and central West Virginia.

The area is full of muskies, capable of stretching measuring tapes beyond four feet.

Some outstanding bucks are coming from the area. I know of two bucks from Calhoun and Wirt County that gross over 170 inches of antler.

Calhoun County contains one of the last great outdoor treasures in the Mount Zion Drive-In.

Additionally, area residents are in the process of raising funds for trout to be stocked at the Calhoun Park.

I hope to write about all things outdoors while being entertaining and informational.

Possible topic suggestions can be emailed to Coryboothe@hotmail.com.
