Leah Kathryn "Katie" Busch Slider, 77 - Parkersburg

Leah Kathryn "Katie" Busch Slider, 77, of Parkersburg WV, passed away Jan. 11, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 18, 1935, in Big Bend, W.Va., a daughter to the late R.M. and Theresa Busch.

She graduated from Calhoun County High School, and went on to graduate from Mountain State Secretarial College. Over the years, she worked as a secretary for many places and then retired from FMC after many years of service. She was a member of the South Parkersburg CEOS and the Red Hat Society. She loved her church and church family at Fairlawn Baptist Church, and enjoyed shopping and taking trips to the beach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Don Busch.

She is survived by her husband, Carroll Slider; brother, Glenn Busch (Barbara) of Lubeck; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Norma Cottrell of Belpre; nieces and nephews, Shawn and Tara Busch of Parkersburg, Gregg and Mary Beth Busch of Mansfield, Ohio, Kevin and Jill Busch of Ohio and Serena and Carl Jones of Parkersburg; great-nieces and nephews, Michaelyn Busch, Mace Busch, Kevin Busch, Jeremy Busch, Nicholas Busch, Emily Busch and Stephen Maher; and special friend, Frances Baltzegar of Greenwood, S.C.

Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Greg Varndell officiating and Virgil Beall assisting. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
