Orelene Miller Butcher Demastus, 71 - Cox's Mills

Orelene Miller Butcher Demastus, 71, of Cox's Mills WV, passed away following an extended illness on January 9, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital Select Specialties in Charleston, WV.

She was born on September 3, 1941 in Gilmer County, a child of the late Woodrow and Evylin Luzader Miller.

On July 15, 1960, Orelene married the late Glendall Dewain Butcher. The had three children; Tamela Sue (Paul Eddie) Carter of Newark WV, the late Michael Dewain Butcher and the late Kimela Kay Burkhammer.

On August 13, 1991, Orelene married and is survived by her beloved husband, Allen Joseph Demastus. Also surviving is one sister, Ramona Ratliff Burdette of Sutton, WV, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Orelene was associated with the Glenville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She loved her God Jehovah and discussed the bible daily with her friend and chore worker Elsi Altop. She regularly listened to the congregation meetings at the Kingdom Hall by phone. She was faithful till death. Orelene will be remembered for her love for country music, singing and dancing and also for the loving concern she always showed for her family and neighbors. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 14, 2013, 1:00 pm at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville with Elder Brian Connaughton officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Troy. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00-1:00 pm prior to the services.
