Damage done to CM/HS fields

Two Calhoun juveniles have been charged with destruction of property at the newly developed Calhoun Middle/High School athletic field.

The two males used a vehicle driving and spinning across the football field and another field during the early morning hours of July 11. The wet turf was heavily damaged.

Deputy Sheriff Carl Ballengee said the case will be brought against the juveniles, in addition to two counts of grand larceny for stolen vehicles and charges related to joy riding.

Principal Roger Propst said "We appreciate the work of the Sheriff's Department in apprehending the juveniles. We hope it will send a message," he said.

The same juveniles were involved in stealing vehicles and related incidents on Altizer Road.
