The Calhoun Commission will be holding a special meeting at 4 p.m. to appoint a replacement for County Clerk Mike Ritchie who has resigned effective Jan. 15.

Ritchie had completed two years of a six year term.

The commission will appoint a replacement who will hold office until the next General Election in 2014.

Commission president Kevin Helmick said the procedure for replacement will be followed under WV Code in making the appointment.

The only other item on the special meeting agenda is appointment of a commission president.
