Earl B. Ragland, 90, of Chloe

Earl B. Ragland, 90, of Chloe WV, died December 29, 2012 in the Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ivydale.

He was born December 18, 1922 in Rosine, KY, a son of the late Thornton and Cansada Stewart Ragland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Ragland; second wife, Orine Ragland; two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Ragland was a retired employee of the WV DOH, Calhoun County office. He was a former bus driver for the Calhoun County BOE, a former employee of the Spencer State Hospital and a former rural letter carrier. Also, he was a well-known farmer and stockman in Calhoun County.

While living in Wooster, OH, he was employed by the Wooster Iron and Metal Company. He was a Christian and a member of the Milo Church. He was a Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Hazel Bailey Ragland of Chloe; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Pryor of Byrdstown, TN, Janet and Kenny Sunderland of Canal Fulton, OH, Sue and Tick Frazier of Millersburg, OH; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Stephanie Ragland of Ripley; step daughter, Connie of Wooster, OH; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held January 3 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. John Meadows officiating. Burial will be in the Minnora Cemetery, Minnora. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours before the service.
