Addie Geneva "Gene" Hively, 98 - Spencer

ADDIE GENEVA "GENE" HIVELY, 98, of Spencer, West Virginia died December 23, 2012 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer. She was born July 7, 1914 in Roane County a daughter of the late Ott and Minnie Bartlett Carpenter. She formerly worked at Kellwood Company, in the physical therapy department at Roane General and as a mail carrier. She enjoyed sewing and was a member of the Egypt Ridge Church. She is survived by two daughters, Faye Wayne of Bradford, Ohio and Carol Carpenter of Spencer; one son, Carl Hively of Spencer; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Eli Hively; one son, Earl; one daughter, Karen; and a great-grandson, Jacob Hively. Service will be at 1:00pm Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral , Spencer, with Revs. Danny Whited and Donald Cottrill officiating. Burial will be in the Egypt Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
