FAYETTE HOME INVASIONS - Deputies in Fayette County are investigating two different home invasion robberies that happened within hours.

They're searching for two suspects who broke into an elderly man's home and robbed him.

The elderly man said the men knocked on his door and explained that their car had broken down and asked for help.

The men pulled masks over their head, forced their way in and demanded money.

The elderly man grabbed a gun to defend himself and the suspects wrestled him to the ground. The victim was able to grab a nearby metal flashlight and hit one of the suspects over the head several times.

The masked men got away with the man's wallet and cash. They were armed with a pellet gun which was dropped as they ran from the home.

Another home invasion robbery happened earlier, a similar incident, where deputies say two people knocked on the door, told the female homeowner they were having car trouble and asked to use a telephone.

She told deputies they were armed with a claw hammer and pistol, demanding money and pills.

Deputies say the suspects got away with the victim's purse and cash.
