CHESTERHILL PRODUCE AUCTION TO HOST WV BUYER'S MEETING

Rural Action invites prospective and current fresh produce resellers and institutional buyers in West Virginia to the Chesterhill Produce Auction's annual buyer's meeting. The meeting will take place on January 10 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Wood County Public Library in Parkersburg.

The meeting will include an overview of the past auction season, projections for the upcoming season, and calendar of events for the upcoming year. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss purchasing strategies, distribution, aggregation, and opportunities for additional business growth and to further expand access to fresh produce in rural communities. Current buyers at the produce auction as well as new and prospective buyers are encouraged to attend.

The Chesterhill Produce Auction is an economic development project of Rural Action's Sustainable Agriculture program. The auction is located in Chesterhill, Ohio just 20 miles north of Athens. Since 2005, the auction has served as a rural wholesale market providing fresh, local produce from regional farmers for a variety of institutional buyers and resellers in both Ohio and West Virginia.
