If things weren't convincing at the end of one quarter they sure were by halftime as a huge Geary Middle School team rolled to a 50-19 victory over Calhoun Middle School Tuesday night.

Geary took a 10-3 first quarter lead and pushed it out to 31-7 at halftime and never looked back, even increasing the lead with a 15-5 margin in the third quarter.

David Nichols led Geary with 14 while Brandon Morris added 11 more and A.J. McGinnis barely missed joining them in double figures as he ended up with nine.

For CMS, 0-5, Jerry Jones, Chris Thornton and Sonny Wilson had five apiece while Jackson Taylor and Sonny Wilson had two each.

Christopher Kirkland, Daniel Hall and Brent Anderson all played but did not score.

The B game was a different story as CMS gave Geary all it wanted for a half then did not score after intermission.

Calhoun took a 10-9 lead after one only to have Geary bounce back with an 11-3 second period advantage for a 20-12 halftime lead.

Geary added four in the third and 12 more in the fourth while the Red Devils were going scoreless to set the final 36-13 score.

Ben Scott led Geary with 12, all in the first half.

Trevor Carder led Calhoun with seven while Brady Fox added four and Buck Marks two.

Levi Gregory, Damon Westfall, Dylan Anderson, Aaron West, Jaron Hall, Adam Nelson, Jakiah Hickman, Ryan Miliron and Josh Schoolcraft all played but did not score.

Calhoun will try to get on the winning path Thursday night when it entertains Ritchie Middle School in a doubleheader.
