Donzel Blair Whipkey, 86 - Vienna

Donzel Blair Whipkey, 86, of Vienna, passed away Dec. 15, 2012, at the Willows Center.

He was born on July 23, 1926, in Calhoun County, W.Va., a son to the late James and Fonda Radabaugh Whipkey.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He retired from Anchor-Hocking Glass in Salem, N.J.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eulah Lang Whipkey; five sons, Steven and his wife, Elaine, of New Jersey, Gregory Whipkey and his wife, Pam, of Mineral Wells, Michael Whipkey and his wife, Mary, of New Jersey, Mark Whipkey and his wife, Debbie, of New Jersey and Donzel Lee Whipkey and his wife, Donna, of New Jersey; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Marven Whipkey and his wife, Ruthelene, of Parkersburg, Wavel Whipkey and his wife, Reba, of Vienna and Gail Siers and his wife, Barbara, of Elizabeth; one sister, Barbara Roberts of Nobe, W.Va.; and one brother-in-law, Franklin Cain of Parkersburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James Logan Whipkey; and two sisters, Willa Dene Amos and Mini May Cain.

Services will be 11 a.m. Dec. 22 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Jim Yoak officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 2-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
