For some reason Calhoun Middle School seemed to run into a wall in the fourth quarter Tuesday night, losing a 49-20 contest to Spencer Middle School.

Actually, the Yellowjackets scored more points in the fourth quarter (21) than Calhoun had in the entire game.

Spencer was led in that quarter by starter Drew Kinder with six of his eight points. Starter Jake Nichols had four of his 10 points in the quarter while Dallan Simmons came off the bench with five points.

Ethan Myers led Spencer with 15 points.

Calhoun, 0-3, kept things close throughout and was only down 28-15 after three but then it just seemed to hit a wall.

Zach Yanero led Calhoun with five while Chris Thornton, Jerry Jones and Dave Jones added four each.

Brent Anderson, Chris Kirkland, Jackson Tayler, Sonny Wilson and Daniel Hall all played but did not score.>{? The Red Devils also lost the reserve game by a 39-4 count, soring all its points in the third quarter.

Ben Fredrick and Brady Fox had two each for all the scoring for Calhoun. Trevor Carder, Levi Gregory, Buck Marks, Damon Westfall, Dylan Anderson, Aaron West, Jaron Hall, Nolan Nelson, Jakiah Hickman, John Watkins, Ryan Milleron, Josh Schoolcraft and Brent Anderson all played but did not score.

Brandon May led Spencer with 16 while Jordan Coon added 10.

Calhoun returns to action Thursday night at Braxton County.
