Evelyn M. Griffith, 82 - Spencer

Evelyn M. Griffith, 82, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on December 7, 2012 at Charleston Area Medical Center's Memorial Division in Charleston, West Virginia.

She was born March 27, 1920 at Summersville, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Elvin O. and Zella Langford Miller.

She was a 1947 graduate of Spencer High School, was retired from Spencer Business Forms, former troop leader of Girl Scout Troop #237, and was a homemaker until her death.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Bernard "Clifford" Griffith; two sisters, Aileen Hager Dunn and Dolly Brown and her husband Howard; and a brother, Jack Ramsey.

She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Griffith of Parkersburg, West Virginia; two sisters, Lilly Jones and Faye Bostic; a sister-in-law, Eva Ramsey; several nieces and nephews; and a lot of very special and devoted friends.

Service will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, with Rev. Jackie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Eventide Cemetery in Spencer. Visiting is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Evelyn specifically requested no flowers with donations going to the Roane County Humane Society, 2550 Parkersburg Road, Spencer, WV 25276.
