Born in Calhoun, she was the daughter of Mrs. Delphia Cottrell Parsons of Orma and the late S. G. Parsons. She was a member of the Orma United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her mother and two daughters, Janet Keathley of Romulus, Michigan and Karen Morgan of Cumberland, Maryland; sister, Juanita Byard of Amsterdam, Ohio; three grandchildren, Melissa and shannon Keathley and Jason Portor; one great-grandchild, Devyn Ely.

She was preceded in death by her father, S.G. Parsons and her husband, Grover Porter; son, Richard Porter; brother, Andy Parsons and sister, Maycel Clevenger.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 31, at 2 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg with Rev. David Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the Orma United Methodist Church Cemetery, Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
