Ronzel Ray Nicholas, 89 - Orma

Ronzel Ray Nicholas, 89, of Orma, peacefully passed away at 4:45 am on November 9, 2012 in Florida.

Ronzel was born on March 5, 1923. He grew up on Bear Run Road near Orma, WV and spent his years working on sawmills, farming and raising cattle in the same area.

He loved nature, hunting, trapping and visiting with friends and family. He had a gift for sharing stories about his life and playing his guitar and harmonica. He was a kind and gentle father and grandfather and will always be remembered with much love.

Ronzel was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mary Jane 'Marie' Nicholas.

Also preceding him in death was his mother Dora Mae, brother Doye, and sisters Alma and Annalee.

He leaves behind 2 children: Helen Lenet Parsons (Willie Beard) of Edgewater, FL and Denver 'Dink' McCumbers (Cheryl) of Orville, Ohio; 5 grandchildren: Lisa Summers of Heathrow, FL; Vicki Major (Don) of Palm Coast, FL, Charles 'Chuck' Deeter (Brenda) of Orville, Ohio, Kimberly McCumbers and Keith McCumbers both of Spenser, WV; and one great grandchild, James 'Jimmy' Hudson. He is also survived by several other niece, nephews, and family members, as well as many life long friends.

A Memorial service will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church at Orma Saturday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m.
