SMITH RESIGNS GRANTSVILLE COUNCIL POST

(11/08/2012)
Grantsville councilman Andrew William Smith is resigning from the Grantsville Town Council, related to getting married and moving from the area.

He submitted his resignation this week.

Dear Mayor, Council and Town of Grantsville,

I regret to inform you that I will be leaving town council soon. The December 3, 2012 meeting will be the last meeting I will attend as councilman.

I am getting married and moving to another town at the end of December. If it weren't for moving, I would be on council for as long as you would have me.

I'm going to miss living in Grantsville and being on town council. Being a council member and being active in this community has been deeply fulfilling and rewarding.

When I was first elected I couldn't believe the overwhelming support I received and I want to thank everyone who put their confidence in me.

I know that the remaining council and mayor will do everything in their power to make Grantsville a better place.

As a final statement, I would like to encourage people in the area, particularly young people, to get involved in your community.

There is a lot of work to be done and a lot of fun to be had. Consider joining or creating a positive organization that will help bolster your community.

You live in a very special and unique piece of the planet, do your part to preserve and appreciate it. It's your responsibility.

Truly yours,
Andrew William Smith
