The Calhoun community, like it frequently does, came to the aid of a friend.

A fundraiser for Butch "Boof" Burch, who is having serious medical problems, raised $11,000.

Burch expressed his appreciation to the community:

"No words can begin to express my sincere thanks to the people of Calhoun County/Grantsville for their support and generosity."

Special thanks to Mary Alice Wilson, Tom and Barb Fluharty, Shelia Garretson, Stacie Starcher, Gina Burns, Tracy Magley, Sharron Pitts, Carl and Chris Ballengee, JoAnn Stevens, Georgie Stalnaker, Judy Powell, Debbie King, Jackie Blankenship, Danny Owens, Bailey,, Riley and Nicholas Cain, Savannah Rogers, Jason Nettles for his great auctioning skills, Donnie Price for his famous pulled pork and to everyone who ate a meal or participated in the auction."
