WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Police Shoot Man While Serving Warrant, Charleston Stand-Off

(11/03/2012)
MAN SHOT BY POLICE - Ronald Reese, 55, of Page was shot at his home Thursday in Fayette County by State Police while serving a warrant. When State Police entered the home, they allegedly found Reese brandishing a handgun toward them and he was shot by a trooper when he refused to obey commands to drop the weapon.

Reese's injuries appear to be non-life threatening, but he remains at a Charleston hospital.

CHARLESTON STAND-OFF - Two people have been arrested following a standoff in Charleston early Friday.

Police were called to a Charleston home around 6 a.m. for a domestic disturbance after getting a call that a woman was being threatened with a knife and a hand grenade.

The area was cordoned off and the Kanawha County bomb squad was called because of the possible explosive device. The hand grenade was found to be inert.

Following negotiations, a woman and her children were allowed out of the house, where she told police that one man was inside the house and "passed out drunk," according to police.

Charges are pending.
