NICUT GIRL FINDS NEEDLE IN HALLOWEEN CANDY

(10/29/2012)
The 12-year-old granddaughter of an Upper Nicut Road woman found a sewing needle inserted in a piece of Halloween candy after trick or treating in the Arnoldsburg area Saturday night.

Irene Carter said her granddaughter brought the candy home and opened a Tootsie Roll to eat, and bit into the needle.

"It really scared me to think someone would do this," said Carter, who called the State Police.

"There were lots of other kids getting candy, so I think its important to be a wary," said Carter.

State Police are investigating the incident.
