SEVEN FIRE DEPARTMENTS RESPOND TO RITCHIE FOREST FIRE - 150 Acre Fire In Jackson

With rainfall scarce and the woods laden with layers of leaves, forest fire risk is high, although rain is in the forecast.

Jackson County had a 150-acre forest fire Friday night.

Calhoun had its first brush fire of the season this week, a small one.

Ritchie County had a 100 acre fire Thursday that burned for five hours.

The fire was in an area at the Ritchie/Tyler County line.

Fire departments responding were Pennsboro, Ellenboro Volunteer Fire Department, Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department, Middlebourne/Tyler County Volunteer Fire Department, West Union Volunteer Fire Department, Greenwood Volunteer Fire Department, Sistersville Volunteer Fire Department and Ritchie County EMS.
