Beatrice "Bea" Lowther, 61 - Glenville

Beatrice "Bea" Lowther, age 61 of U.S. Highway 33 East, Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life at 4:00 a.m., Saturday October 13, 2012 in the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Emergency Room, Weston, West Virginia, following an unexpected illness.

Born January 18, 1951 in Mingo County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Hubert and Ruby Newsome Rose.

Bea was a homemaker and mother, not just to her daughter Jessica, but a foster care mother and caregiver, having cared for over 100 children. She was a Methodist by faith and attended the Rock Grove Church. Bea enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, caring for others, and especially spending time with her granddaughter Makenna.

On July 15, 1978 she was united in marriage to Jimmie Bryan Lowther, who preceded her in death on March 17, 1999.

Surviving is 1 daughter, Jessica Ray and husband Ryan of Fairmont West Virginia, and 1 granddaughter Makenna Ray also of Fairmont; 3 brothers and 2 sisters also survive, Lonnie Rose and wife Micky of Troy, West Virginia; Bobby Rose and wife Sandy of Cox's Mill, West Virginia; Billy Rose and wife Sandy of Cox's Mill, WV, Linda Kay Fincham and husband Blaine of Exchange, West Virginia, and Bonnie Arbogast and husband David of Dayton, Ohio.

Along with her husband and parents, Bea was preceded in death by 1 brother, Roy "Bimbo" Rose.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012 with Rev. James Brunty officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiney Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Monday at the mortuary.

Ellyson Mortuary Inc. is assisting the family of Bea Lowther with arrangements.
