One of Calhoun's most famous mountain music makers, Lester McCumbers, with his wife Linda, are releasing a CD of "Old Timey Tunes" from Calhoun and Central West Virginia. The release is scheduled for August 14-20.

McCumbers has won dozens of fiddle contests, most recently at the West Virginia Folk Festival, and is recognized around the country for his purist style of playing, a true folk musician.

Musician Bobby Taylor says "Lester and Linda are true mountain treasures. Their pure and rural lifestyle comes across in their music. They echo what is timeless and historical, a flavor that makes everything sound just perfect.
