JAMES LESTER SNIDER - Grantsville

James Lester Snider, 91, of Grantsville, WV formerly of Arnoldsburg, died July 20, 2002 at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Grantsville.

He was born April 15, 1911 at Yellow Creek, son of the late Benjamin Sheridian and Rosella Saunders Snider. He retired from Colonial Rubber Company, Ravenna, Ohio and returned to Calhoun in 1972 where he purchased a farm at Arnoldsburg, and later moved to Grantsville in 1991. He was a former patient in Miletree Nursing Home, Spencer, WV and later became a resident of Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center's Long Term care Unit.

Surviving, wife Geneva V. Heiney Snider, whom he married March 13, 1937; two sons, Jim Snider of Brady Lake, Ohio and Andy Snider of Arnoldsburg, WV; three daughters, Doris J. Davis of Spencer, Sandra M. Ferrebee of Revenna, Ohio and Wanda S. Crawford of Lewisburg NC; five sisters, Josephine Dean of Arkansas, Loretta Hosey and Emma Alton both of Ohio, Sophie Smith of Florida and Ruth Baum of Williamstown, WV; twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son E. Ray Snider, in addition to an infant daughter, JoAnn; granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Alderman; two sisters, Nellie Ferrell and Marie Rose; two brothers, Blaine and Russell Snider.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville. Interment will be in the Betts Cemetery, Grantsville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
